How Could you Forget?
[tw angst/swearing/murder mentions]
[a/n ; this fic is based off of the las nevadas lore stream from quackity. i would say if youve not watched it then you probably wont understand the topic but id hope you watched it. it was great. ANYWAY--]
quackity he/him, karljacobs he/him, sapnap he/him
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
His heart raced.
Murderer.
Reason I died.
Why would you bring that up?
Multiple different emotions. Anger. Sadness. Shock. His trust drained with every step he took. He didn't bother to look back, his hair and wings soaked. Ears clogged.
"Quackity, wait! Please!"
Echoing behind him. His mind was playing tricks on him. He was imagining it. Don't look back.
A hand placed upon his shoulder. He'd jerked, his wings spreading out.
A yelp, a splash to the muddy ground. He turned.
"Quackity.. Please! I don't know what's wrong with Karl, I'm sure he's just joking. I- please come back!"
Sapnap.
He pleaded. Desperately.
"Sapnap, back away. I can't- I have to go, man."
Sapnap stood up, slipping. "Quackity.. I.. Please.. I didn't think it would turn out this way!"
"I never want to see Karl ever fucking again. Sapnap, I love you. But keep Karl every inch away from me. As far as possible."
"...I understand.
...I love you too."
His mind swirled.
Anger. Betrayal. Sadness. Confusion. Hurt.
"This is supposed to be about peace."
"And all I know about you is that you're a terrorizing murderer!"
"If you're gonna sit here and label me as a fucking murderer..."
"What history!?"
"Karl, this isn't funny, dude."
"It's Quackity!"
...
He doesn't remember me.
El Rapids?
Las Nevadas.. Kinoko Kingdom?
George. Sapnap.
"Murderer."
"That was a plan that we agreed on!"
"How could you forget the history that we had together?!"
...
How could you forget about me?

Slime
Who's ready for some angst?
So anyway I have a different fic (the snippet I posted just a second ago) I wanted to do for valentine's, but that one is nowhere near finished, and this one is, so. Y'know.
It's kinda badly written, buuuut I don't care. I'm so very tired o~0
Anyway, enjoy!
Warnings:: Fear of death, dehumanization, ect.
Word Count: 3,070
Karl can't speak in his gummy/true form—which I've decided to use for angst.
He is a relative of the slime family, kinda like Slimecicle, but Karl can’t really control his form when he’s stressed/has lost too much mass. He mostly violet/purple, but his limbs do have a slight gradient to blue/teal. He is much younger than Slimecicle, and has not lived in a hole for centuries, so he has a much, much better understanding of retaining a human form and shape than Charlie does.
So anyway, he gets stuck in his true form for some reason, like exhaustion or stress.
It's equated to damage, like slime hybrids in osmp. He gets attacked by a mob of zombies, loses his ability to retain human-ish shape, and loses enough mass to be small, like a foot tall small. If he had enough to eat, and wasn't super stressed, maybe he'd be able to gain back enough mass to become his human self again, but, as it is, he can't.
And he can't speak, either. His two fiancés, Sap and Q, don't know about his true form, and he's scared of what they might do to him if they catch him (while Sap and Q are very kind to him, in his human form, he didn't want to risk it. Quackity had a mean streak twenty miles wide, and Sapnap did enjoy killing things. Especially pets. What if he got mistaken for a hostile mob? He was a slime, after all) so, he tries to hide in Kinoko.
But! After a few too many close calls, he decides that it would be better for him to go somewhere else, so he travels out of Kinoko into the main Smp. This leads to him getting caught by some curious people (Tubbo, Ranboo, and Michael) who think that Karl's just a strange, somewhat intelligent, mob. They end up keeping him in a cage as a cool new pet, and poor Karl doesn't have anything to write with or signify that he's not an animal, dangit. A pencil wouldn't really be much use, because he didn't actually have fingers in his slime form, but still. He could have worked it out.
The teens weren't so bad, he supposed, but they treat him like he’s a cat or a dog or something, and it just feels demeaning. So, he devises a plan to escape. It’s really not that hard, actually, he just has to squish his malleable body through the bars of his kennel and make his way out the door. The snow outside poses a bit of a problem for his semi-liquid body, but he is the consistency of jello. It helps him a little bit, but some of his body mass freezes off, leaving him even smaller. Eventually, though, he manages to get out of the tundra and starts making his way back to Kinoko, because even if he gets caught and treated like a pet by Sap, Q and Goggy, at least it'd be safer. At least it'd be by people he trusted. At least it'd be by the people he loved. And even if they kill him, at least he wouldn’t have to live as somebody’s pet anymore.
Meanwhile, Sap and Q are freaking out, cause they can't find Karl anywhere, and it's bordering on four weeks that he's been missing. They’ve nearly turned the Smp upside-down looking for him, and unfortunately, nobody else has seen Karl, either.
So when Karl finally makes it out of the tundra, he still can't change back. He's just so stressed with everything going on, so when he eventually gets to Kinoko, he's faced with a choice: hide again, or show himself to try and communicate with the other residents of Kinoko.
He made the easy choice. He decides to find his fiancés.
The two were in the courtyard, Quackity reading through some documents piled next to him and Sapnap sparring against a training dummy. He approached them carefully, hiding behind barrels and building fixtures until he was close enough to reveal himself to Quackity. (He was not going near Sapnap with a sword, not when he looked like this. That was a good way to get cleaved in half.
He finally revealed himself to Quackity, stepping out from the shadows and tugging on the avian’s pant leg. Quackity shrieked, flailing enough to tip his wicker chair over and scatter his papers across the stones of the courtyard. Sapnap heard Quackity scream and was running in a flash, brandishing his sword towards Karl as he sprinted over.
Karl’s heart stopped. He had the opportunity to run, in the short time before Sanap arrived and speared him through, but…this was the first time he had seen either of his fiancés since he first got stuck like this. It had been nearly a month. And now, Sapnap was about to kill him, and they’d. They’d never know. They’d never know that it was him.
Karl’s legs wobbled, and then all but melted beneath his body. He threw his arms over his head and curled in on himself, his entire being quivering in fear and despair. He didn’t want to see Sapnap kill him, didn’t want to see one of the loves of his life deliver the final blow.
Sapnap skidded to a stop just as he reached them, head cocking in confusion as the little purple slime folded in on itself upon his arrival. The entire mass was wiggling, almost like it was afraid of him. Curiously, he poked it with the tip of his sword and was rewarded by it unfurling and trying to scramble away on its back. Beady little dot eyes blinked at him, wide and glimmering in the morning light.
"Hey! It's colored like one of Karl's hoodies! Like, y'know, the blue and purple one?" Sapanp realized, a grin spreading across his face as he shot a glance at Quackity. The avian, who had been crouched behind his overturned wicker chair, peeked over it at the slime's splayed out body. Sapnap was right. It did look like one of Karl’s hoodies.
“So it does,” he agreed, climbing to his feet and approaching Karl. “It…it seems more scared than hostile.” Karl nodded frantically at the avian’s words, scooching backwards as Quackity grew closer. Quackity paused in surprise and shared a look with Sapnap. He waved at the fireborn to put away his sword and turned back to the shivering slime on the ground.
“Hey,” he murmured, crouching slowly down to inspect the little slime. “Can you understand us?” At Karl’s hurried nod, a pensive frown stretched across his face. “...can you speak?”
Karl slowly shook his head, feeling strangely ashamed.
After some contemplation, he turned back to Sapnap with a curious expression on his face. “I think it’s like Charlie. Just…not quite as developed, maybe? Cause Charlie can talk, even when he’s small.”
Sapnap snorted out a small laugh. “Don’t let Charlie hear you say that. He’ll freak out over his ‘cover’ being blown.” All the same, he joined Quackity in inspecting Karl.
Karl deflated at the remark. While it wasn’t meant to hurt him, it still smarted. Charlie was older than he was! By several centuries! Of course he’d have better control over his body!
He waved his arms furiously, gesturing towards himself, and then towards Sapnap and Quackity. He was trying to tell them that it was him, that he was Karl, but they just didn’t seem to understand!
He couldn't sign either, he didn't. Have. Fingers.
He was still himself! He was still Karl…he guessed the others didn't realize that. He guessed they couldn't tell. They wouldn't have any reason to think that he, the strange little slime creature that wandered up to them, was their fiancé.
Unbidden, his eyes started to burn, and tears sprung to his eyes. Karl scrubbed at his eyes furiously. He didn't want to cry! Of all the things he couldn't do in his slime form, why wasn't crying one of them?!
"It's crying! Dude, I think you hurt its feelings! What do we do?" Sapnap exclaimed, tail twitching and flicking anxiously. Quackity shrugged, eyes guilty. “I dunno, man! I didn’t know slimes could cry! Charlie never has!”
Sapnap bit his lip, thinking, then scooped Karl up into his arms. “Hey, it’s okay, little guy. I know Quackity can be a dick sometimes, but don’t take it to heart. It’ll be okay, okay?” Sapnap ignored the affronted noise that the avian made and gently stroked his fingers over Karl’s head while making cooing noises. Karl took the gesture of comfort for what it was, burying his head against Sapnap’s chest and sobbing into the fireborn’s shirt. He poured the pent-up emotions of being trapped in a cage for days and treated like an animal, of being half frozen, of being afraid and unable to speak for weeks into Sapnap’s shirt, soaking it through with fluids he probably couldn’t afford to lose. If he kept crying like he was, he'd start losing more mass. He didn’t want that. Not when it was so hard to gain back.
Karl cries for a long, long while. Sapnap and Quackity don’t really know what to do, because that’s obviously not because of Quackity’s remark, but something that had built up over time.
They decide to take in the little slime, letting it live with them as long as it wanted to.
For Karl, their decision was a godsend, because he could rest and recover in a familiar place, with people he loved. He was allowed to roam wherever he wanted (which is a step up from the cage Tubbo had him in) and he stayed with at least one of his fiancés every day. Unfortunately, he was still stuck in his slime form, no matter what he tried.
Despite everything, Sapnap was rather…dense. And most of the time, Quackity was either busy with his affairs with Las Nevadas, or he was looking for Karl. Neither of them ever realized that he was with them, nearly all of the time.
And no matter how much he tried, he couldn't get his hands on an inked quill and a piece of paper. The frustration had reduced him to stinging tears, and it took him a while more before he gave up and accepted that he'd probably never get to tell his fiancés who he was.
It was fine. He would be fine.
He would.
_______
Quackity found himself becoming rather fond of the little slime over the few weeks it had been with them, and he was absolutely delighted on the days it decided to hang around with him. It usually alternated between himself and Sapnap, and sometimes didn’t go with either of them, but today it had decided to spend its time with him.
Right now, it was hanging from his neck like a sloth, or perhaps a koala would, as he made his way along one of the many paths of Las Nevadas. He was headed to the casino today, needing to do a checkup on the slot machines and make sure that nobody had tampered with anything.
A green, semi-translucent figure bounced towards Quackity, and a fond smile grew across his face as Charlie barreled closer. He raised a hand in preparation to greet the slime. Charlie’s face lit up, and he sped towards Quackity at a much more rapid pace, his own gelatinous arm raised to meet the avian’s.
"Hello, Quackity from Las Nevadas! Hello, Karl from Kinoko Kingdom!" A green palm slapped his own, but Quackity was too startled to respond to the slime’s exuberant greeting. Karl was here?!
Quackity jerked ramrod straight, and his head whipped from side to side, wildly searching the surrounding buildings. "Karl?"
The little purple slime frantically patted Quackity's chest, nearly losing its one-armed grip around the avian's neck. Quackity looked down at it with sad eyes, confusion clear in his face.
Karl slapped his own chest, staring imploringly at the big avian. To his utter disappointment, Quackity looked away from him and back up at Charlie.
"Wh–where's Karl, Charlie? Where did you see him?" The avian sounded desperate, and it hurt, to hear Quackity call for him when he was right there. Karl’s eyes stung, and he sent a pleading look Charlie’s way. The bigger slime met his gaze, and a small, sympathetic grin formed over his face.
Very gently, the bigger slime leaned forward and patted one green hand on top of Karl's head. "Karl from Kinoko Kingdom." The green slime said plainly, moving his gaze from Karl up to Quackity’s.
Karl nodded frantically, twisting his hand-nubs into Quackity's rumpled dress shirt and bracing his legs against the avian’s sternum. He pulled himself up, high enough that he was face-to-nose with Quackity, and waved frantically between himself and Charlie. His movements were so violent that he lost his grip, and panic strummed though his body when he tipped backwards and fell.
His back smacked against something oddly lumpy, and he realized that Quackity had brought his hands up to catch him, even while he was staring at him as if he was in some kind of daze.
Finally, Quackity blinked several times and hesitantly brushed his thumb along Karl’s arm, almost as if he thought the slime would disappear at a moment's notice.
“Y-You’re Karl?!” His voice was shaking, and his eyes were watering. Karl nodded frantically, curling one of his hand-nubs around Quackity’s thumb. The line of the avian’s mouth wavered, and he wiped his eyes on his shoulder before turning to Charlie.
"Charlie, why can't he talk?"
"He's been de-gooped, Quackity from Las Nevadas. He doesn't have enough of himself to form properly." Charlie paused for a long moment, then. "Not that I know anything about that, seeing as I am a perfectly normal human being with perfectly normal human bones."
Quackity didn’t bother answering, instead staring down at the little purple slime draped over his hands. Karl had been with them the entire time…? Karl had been with them while they were looking for him…
An incredulous laugh escaped from his lips, and soon, he found himself doubled over, Karl clutched to his chest, cackling like a madman as a wave of emotion overcame him.
Karl found himself squished against a layer of smoky cotton as he was squeezed to Quackity’s chest in a desperate hug, the scent of cigarettes and the dusty smell of sand pervading his senses from the tight embrace.
After what felt like too much time and not enough, Quackity loosened his grip on Karl’s body, and his laughter petered out. A doofy grin still decorated his face, and his eyes were scanning over Karl like he’d never seen him before.
Seconds later, his eyes widened, and his grin grew. “I gotta tell Sapnap! Holy fuck he’s gonna be so happy!”
Quackity shifted Karl to one arm and pulled his communicator out with the other. It took him a few seconds to do it one handed, but Karl saw him pull up Sapnap’s contact and hit call. It rang for a few moments, before their third picked up. “Yea–”
“Sapnap, Sapnap, I fucking found Karl.” Quackity didn’t even pause to let Sapnap get a word in, bowling over anything the other man had to say. “Sapnap, he’s the fucking slime, he’s fucking been here the whole goddamn time!”
“Oh my fucking god.”
“I fucking know!” Quackity grinned down at Karl, cradled in the crook of his left arm. Karl waved back up at him, eyes scrunched up in joy.
“I’m headed over there right now. Don’t you two fucking move, got it?”
Quackity laughed and planted himself on a bench on the side of the road, pulling Karl into his lap and hugging the little slime to his chest. “We won’t, we won’t. We’ll be here, dude.”
Quackity hung up and shoved his communicator back into his pocket. His other arm circled around Karl’s pliable body, and he looked down at the slime, eyes wide with wonder.
“Dude, what the fuck,” he whispered, and all Karl could do was shrug, chest feeling lighter than it had in a long, long while.
Charlie wandered away while they waited, stating that he needed to go check his holes (Quackity needed to fill some of those in, he’d nearly broken his ankle about eight times) leaving the two of them to wait for their third.
When Sapnap finally arrived, he made a beeline for the little purple slime resting in Quackity’s lap, sprinting through town and skidding to a stop right in front of them.
He immediately reached for Karl, his warm hands surrounding his torso and his thumbs pressing against Karl's chest. He was plucked up from Quackity’s arms before he could blink, and then he was brought towards Sapnap’s face.
The huge fireborn pressed a kiss against Karl’s face, lips as big as his head smothering against his face. He leaned into it, wrapping his arms around Sapnap's cheeks and jawline in an awkward hug. It was a good thing he didn't technically breathe through his nonexistent mouth, because he'd be suffocating from how long his face was being squashed into Sapnap's lips.
Then he was being squished against the fireborn's stubbled cheek, a deep, elated purr jiggling his entire body. Karl leaned into it, burying his face into Sapnap's cheek and wrapping himself in the familiar, comforting scent of charcoal and dirt. It felt different now, now that they knew.
Sapnap held him at arms length, hands still wrapped firmly around his chest. Karl’s legs dangled limply below, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Sapnap asked earnestly. Karl shot him a flat look and getsured first at his mouthless face, then at his fingerless hand-nubs, and then finally over his whole body in general. The fireborn winced, realizing that Karl physically couldn’t.
It was fine now, though, because they finally knew.
When they finally went to bed that night, he was cocooned between their chests, in a warm embrace formed by the blanket and the two bodies of his fiancés. He wasn’t a pet, he wasn’t dead, and they. Knew.
He still couldn’t build up enough body mass to grow back to normal size and retain his human shape, but it was more bearable now, now that his fiancés knew who he was.

if you don’t want to that’s fine but I really just need to know what would happen
😘💕
oh?! Id love tooo!!
Why weren’t you there!!!
Tumblr media
Tw: Angst, Confrontation, go read part 1
Quackity abruptly stood up, tears still streaming down his face, fists balled up in anger “I need to find them tommy…”
Tommy looked up at him, he had no idea what to say
“do you uhh, want me to come with…?”
Quackity had thought about it, he doesn’t think tommy can help with this, its a family matter after all, so instead he said
“How about you stay here, gather all of her things and take them back to Los Nevada”
Tommy nods, and with that Quackity leaves
It took him awhile to find them both, but eventually he found it
Kinoko Kingdom
and looked over it with rage
it filled him head to toe
~~~Meanwhile, with Tommy~~~
Tommy had first removed your corpse and had buried it right next to your Papas house
He then went back and looked through your room
He found old photos
he doesn’t think this family will ever look that happy again.
He starts putting things in boxes, well whatever isn’t overgrown by nature
~~~~Back to Papa!~~~~
As Quackity stepped up to them, looking like he was ready to kill, sapnap and karl stared back
“Quackity? what are you doing here” Sapnap
“Did you forget something?” Quackity asks
Both of his ex lovers stare in confusion
as he takes out a frog key
“Do you know what this is?! DONT YOU BOTH HAVE ONE?!” He shouts, with so much anger his voice is a little raspy
As Karl stares in confusion
Sapnaps eyes
SNAP!
wide open
he did forget something….someone….very important
~~Tommy!~~
He found a small picture book
You on Karls shoulders, hands up in the air!
It seemed like you were all at the beach, sunny aspect, ur hair was up in pigtails, and well the bath suit all might be dead give aways
Another photo hand you grabbing onto Quackity and pointing to a duck, ironic.
he can imagine you yelling QUACK!!! QUACK!!!
at your papa.
The next page had one of you and sapnap, u were running away with his headband. It looked like he was just about to grab you too!
He turned the next page but some was covered by moss, he tried to recover what he could but
man can’t beat nature
He set it down in the box, and went to the record player.
~~Fathers~~
“We..forgot someone?” Karl says tilting his head, quackity glared at him. When sapnap was snapped back to reality he finally spoke
“Oh my god…how lo-“
“a long time, to long, even after death she….she stayed and waited…”
Sapnap pulled out his key, they always had it in their pockets…how could they forget someone so important, their own child ffs!!
He walks over to quackity and tries to hand it to him
but he refuses
“Quackity just take it, we forgot her, we dont dese-“
“You have just as a right to be upset as I do, but y/n would not want you to wallow like this, She doesn’t blame you….I think she just wanted to see someone one more time.” He pushed the key back to him
Sapnap stared at him, tears in his eyes
Quackity smiled….

Quackity looked at his fist, bloody from Sapnaps now bloody nose.
As Sapnap landed on his back
Quackity bent down and grabbed the key “But I do blame you” he spits at him, with venom lacing his tongue.
He walked away
leaving a sad and angry sapnap
and a very confused and worried Karl
~~~~With tommy!!~~~~
Tommy had just about finished up packing up everything.
It was nearing sunset.
He set down one last empty box (He brings them back and forth) and heads over to your bed.
He’s packing pillows, blankets, and some plushies.
He sees that some look familiar, he thinks he’s seen you walking around with these.
They were like comfort items.
He doesnt want these getting into dreams hands, or any of your stuff…that could damage Quackity really bad.
He’ll have to tell Quackity to hide it all..
Once he’s done packing he looks around and suddenly…
the room seems
Like a weight has been lifted, or a tension is now gone.
He feels better too, he doesnt know how to explain it but it feels good.
Happiness?
Relief?
…..
Closure..?
Either way-
He sighs with content before grabbing the box and heading outside
he turns and takes one final look at the house
and to be honest
he likes to think
y/n felt, whatever he did, too…
Everyone had a soulmate. Sometimes it was easier to find them and be with them. Other times it was more complex and took a bit of time for everything to fall in place.
At least, that's what Karl told himself. But if he was being truthful, it was partly his fault.
The brunette kept hiding secrets from the people he loved. He claimed it was to protect them and that he would tell them if they needed to know, but honestly, he was scared. He was scared his partners, well now ex-partners, would judge him, and that if he told someone about his memory problems it would only worsen. That he would have to face reality, that he would have to stop time travelling, that he would have to stop trying to find a way to fix everything, that he would have to stop before he lost all his memory. Before he lost his partners. His soulmates.
But a part of him knew it was too late.
Tumblr media
The night before the Pogtopita-Manberg war, the four had holed themselves up inside George's castle, knowing that two of them would be fighting against the other two in the morning. It was something the four of them were trying not to think about, knowing there was a chance that any of them could be getting injured or losing a canon life.
The entirety of the quartet was tired. Quackity's wings were killing him from being buried under his shirt all day, Sapnap was itching to set something on fire, Karl was fidgety with nerves as he didn't want to fight tomorrow, in fact, none of them really did, and Y/n was cold from their bath they had taken to strip all of the soot and grime from their skin, due to Pogtopia not having the best living conditions.
Y/n's brother, Wilbur, and themself were the cause of all this mess. The two of them teamed up once he arrived on the server to cause chaos but ultimately made a power grab and created L'Manberg from a simple drug van and the shared thoughts and beliefs of others.
But then they lost it.
That caused the new leader to exile Y/n, Wilbur, and the teenager, Tommy, who looked up to Y/n and Wilbur as older sibling figures, knowing the three would fight for their country back, even if they no longer had any jurisdiction over it.
This led to them fleeing, Wilbur losing a canon life along the way as he dived in front of Y/n after Punz attempted to shoot his younger sibling. That night Punz feared for his life after Sapnap threatened to kill him if he ever tried to hurt his partner again.
After setting up base in an abandoned ravine, their dad's old friend Technoblade joined them, promising to help destroy the government.
Whilst planning for this upcoming war and having Tubbo as a spy, for which he, unfortunately, got executed, Y/n would try to spend as much time with their partners, that being difficult to do so as two of them lived in L'Manberg and Quackity was forced to work ridiculous hours for the drunken president.
Therefore, the castle became a safe haven for the four.
This led to Y/n spending most nights closer to the impending day of the war there. They were glad they could sleep in a proper bed with the people they loved, and that they got to have a break from the bickering between Wilbur and Tommy.
Noticing Karl fighting the urge to get up and start pacing again, Y/n shuffled closer to Sapnap, letting the blazeborn's naturally high body temperature warm them up, and they wrapped their arms around Karl's midsection, pulling him into their torso.
Reaching forwards, they managed to get Quackity to join to cuddle pile, Sapnap wrapping his arms around the three of them, or at least trying to.
That night, the four made a promise to always stick by each other's side and to never let each other go. To always talk and resolve problems and that they would be truthful to each other. After all, they were now fiancées.
As they made this promise, the sound of an achievement rang through their communicators.
'The Soulmate Bond' it simply read.
That night they knew it was meant to be.
But then again, that wasn't the right saying on this server. What was it again?
Oh yeah,
It was never meant to be.
Tumblr media
Sapnap was worried. And he had every right to be.
First, it was Y/n. After the death of their brother, they had started to pull away from the other three, becoming seemingly distant and only really there at night to sleep, disappearing for hours on end.
Quackity had followed them one day only to find them sitting overlooking a cliff. Apparently, it was where Y/n first took Wilbur on the server, where the two saw their first sunset together. Y/n would sit there as the hours would pass, watching the point on the compass spin, it no longer pointing to their bother. They began to snap back into their old self after Quackity sat with them, becoming who they used to be but more willing to fight.
Then Tommy got exiled. Sapnap and Karl believed they already knew, therefore not bringing it up, and Quackity simply didn't tell them. That sparked one of the biggest arguments they had ever had.
Y/n stayed with Phil that night.
Everything seemed fine for a while, with Y/n coming back home and then the quartet creating Cedar Rapids. And then Ghostbur came back, making it easier for Y/n to move on. Everyone was happy.
But then came the butcher army. Y/n refused to let their dad be pushed around and stepped in, earning themselves house arrest, by orders of Quackity.
That night they left. Sapnap remembers the conversation he had with them before they went. It was seemingly normal, Y/n saying they were staying with Phil for a few days. Except they didn't.
It was two weeks later they returned, hearing that Technoblade had killed Quackity. They helped the stubborn duck with his recovery. The blazeborn remembers the amount of shouting and the arguments that happened that week.
Looking back, he should've stepped in more. But he couldn't have known what was going through Y/n's mind at the time.
See Y/n was planning to blow up L'Manberg again. To finish their brother's job. They had realised how corrupt it had become, now wanting to get rid of the power the people who ran it had.
Sapnap should've seen it coming.
After doomsday, there was the final argument. Tensions were still high, and Quackity still couldn't see why Y/n chose to blow it up. Why Y/n would choose the side of Technoblade. The side of Dream. They explained why though. How L'Manberg was originally a power grab. How it was their idea to blow it up in the first place and that they were just finishing what that had started.
Sapnap should've stopped the fight. He should've stopped it before the words tumbled out of Quackity's mouth, before Y/n and Quackity exploded on each other, before Y/n walked away for what he thought was good.
Everyone's heart broke a bit that night.
Second, it was Karl. He started to disappear for a few days at a time, and when he returned? It was like his brain was scattered, and then he'd started to forget stuff.
At the time Sap had chalked it down to Karl's already bad memory, to his forgetful nature that his fiancée had. It began as small things. Karl forgot what day it was, where he left his book, what time he was meant to be at a certain place, and whether or not he had a meeting with the rest of Manberg's cabinet that day. But then It got worse.
Looking back, Sapnap realised that there were some days when Karl wouldn't say his or their partner's names until someone else said them. He had just thought Karl was messing around at the time, him just being cute and just wanting to call them by pet names but looking back at it, he should've realised sooner.
He should've realised when Karl came up with the idea of creating a new place to live, Kinoko Kingdom, because he said Cedar Rapids held no significate importance to him. Before he said it held no real value and that it was just where he lived because Sapnap lived there. Not because Sapnap, Quackity, and Y/n lived there, but because Sapnap lived there.
He should've realised before Karl completely shut him out. Before Karl would hole himself up in his library which he was forbidden from going in. Before Karl would forget him completely and call him by a stranger's name.
He should've helped Karl sooner. His heart cracked again.
Third, it was Quackity.
See the duck hybrid was stubborn, there was no denying that. Sapnap learnt this early on. If Quackity had his mind set on doing something, then there was a small chance, a very minuscule chance at that, of getting him to change his mind, the chance decreasing if Quackity was the one with the power to do what he wanted to do.
One morning, Sapnap had woken up alone. Karl had gone off again, who knows where, Y/n had just left maybe four days ago, and now Quackity had disappeared.
It stayed like that for a month. Quackity and Y/n were nowhere to be found. Karl occasionally disappeared and returned with his memory shot. Sapnap, probably wouldn't have minded so much if Quackity had told him where he was going, but after another month of no contact?
His heart broke again.
And the worse thing was? Karl had no idea what Quackity or Y/n meant to all of them.
And Finally, it was himself.
He could feel himself slipping away. With Karl coming and going, and no word from either Y/n or Quackity, Sapnap was stuck.
It wasn't like he had anyone to go to. His brother was locked away in a heavily armed prison, rightfully so; his Aunt Puffy was busy trying to deal with the fact one of her sons was locked up and also trying to solve this problem with the egg; his dad had been possessed by said egg, and was currently trying to take over the server; and his best friend was in some sort of deep sleep, only occasionally waking up.
He didn't know how much longer he could be there for Karl. As much as it broke him to ever think about leaving the Jacobs boy, he didn't know if it was worth it anymore, not without his partners. His first love and his third.
He didn't know how he could continue like this.
Tumblr media
About a month after the fight, Y/n wanted to go back. Even if everything wouldn't go back to normal, they still wanted to see them, to check that they were doing okay. Because if their partners, well ex-partners were okay, then they'd be okay.
Or at least that's what they kept telling themselves.
The day they went to leave, Y/n climbed down the ladder leading to their room, only to be met with their dad, Philza, in the main room. As they made their way towards the front door and began to pull their cloak on, he stopped them.
"What are you doing?" he asked, nursing the warm mug between his hands.
Y/n sighed, not wanting to have this conversation with their dad but knowing he wouldn't let him go without telling him first, "I'm heading to Cedar Rapids, why? Is something wrong?"
Phil's face fell slightly, "There's a blizzard. You won't be able to make it Y/n."
Y/n's face dropped, and their heart sank in their chest, "How long will it last?"
They hoped it wouldn't be more than a few days at most, however, they were wrong. They ended up spending the next month trapped in the Arctic, unable to get to where they needed to. Unable to apologise for the shit they said.
The day they were finally able to get to Cedar Rapids, it was empty. The land was barren, but the buildings still standing. Their shared house was empty of the majority of everyone's belongings, only a few of theirs and Quackitys left behind.
Where was everyone?
As they stumbled out of the house, tears trying not to fall from their eyes they hit a solid object. Their hands came up to steady themselves, something grabbing onto their biceps. Looking up they saw the face of one of their fiancées.
Pulling back from their grip, Y/n wiped away their tears, wrapping the arms around their torso curling in on themselves. Their fiancée's wings drooped in response and his arms dropped to his sides. The two noticed the obvious distance between them, both physically and emotionally.
Choosing to break the silence between them, Y/n spoke up, "Hey."
Quackity stood still, having an internal malfunction. He was trying not to say anything he didn't want to say, not wanting to screw up again. His wings tightened up behind him, the slits in his shirt allowing his wings to come through, as he stood defensively. His instincts were screaming at him to comfort Y/n.
"Hey."
Looking up at the duck hybrid, Y/n locked eyes with his, and anyone could practically see the awkwardness between the two.
"So, uh," Y/n began, eyes still locked with his, "How are you?"
Quackity's wings fluttered slightly, "I'm alright I guess?"
His response came out as a sort of question, confusing Y/n slightly but they choose not to question it.
"How're the others?"
Quackity paused and Y/n could see them visible tense and him trying to form an answer but not knowing what to say.
"Quackity?" Y/n began, taking a step closer to him, "What happened?"
Tumblr media
Hopping through the nether portal, Y/n grabbed a bunch of snow and hurled it at the goose that was following them, it letting out an exasperated honk and flapping its wings in annoyance. They stood up letting out curse words at the animal, beginning their trek back to their shared home. The white feathered animal biting against Y/n’s cloak and pants, attempting to pull the human back towards the nether portal.
The door slammed shut as Y/n walked through it, shrugging off the snow that had landed on their cloak. It felt like their ears were ringing, their mind spinning even though they could see clearly.
"What do you mean you left?"
"I did exactly what they did. What you did-"
Phil looked concerned at them, wondering what had happened, as his kid nonchalantly discarded their cloak and bag.
"What do you mean by that, Q? Where's Sapnap and Karl anyway, shouldn't they be around?"
"Well I wouldn't know, I came back one day to get them only to find they had disappeared along with all their stuff and most of ours."
"What do you mean disappeared?"
Phil's confusion began to grow as he heard the patter of webbed feet on his floor.
"Like gone. I don't even know where they are."
"Y/n," Phil began, walking closer and seeing the white goose standing next to his child, the goose attempting to pull on his kid's pant leg, it hissing at them when they shooed it off, "What's that?"
"This?" Y/n looked down at the goose, letting out a hiss in response to it honking at them, "It's a goose. And it won't leave me alone." They began frustration seeping through their voice, "Apparently it won't die, no matter how many times you push it into lava. So now I'm guessing it's some sort of immortal being that's come to spite me for my wrongdoings."
Y/n turned and climbed the ladder to the upper part of the house, the goose nestling down by the stairs, ruffling its feathers before it seemingly began to settle down.
"It's a soulmate goose."
Philza's head snapped around to face the voice, him calming once he realised that it was only Kristin. She made her way towards him, resting her hand gently on his shoulder, Phil leaning into the touch he could barely feel.
"The soulmate goose of enforcement only appears when there is an obstacle a soulmate pairing needs help to overcome," She continued walking over to pet the goose before it vanished, "It seems as if our little crow needs some help after all."
Upstairs, Y/n stared out of their window, watching the snow gently fall as they played with the three rings that were attached to a necklace around their neck. Each one with an engraving that referred to each counterpart in their past relationship.
"What do we do?" Y/n asked sitting down next to Quackity on the ground. The duck hybrid had finally stopped pacing and was now frustratedly pulling strands of grass from the ground before throwing them down, "How are we meant to find them?"
"I don't know," He began, "I don't know. I just- I keep thinking if we hadn't... You know... Then everything would be okay."
The two looked down at the ground, not noticing the goose begin to materialise in the distance. The silence between them was awkward. Neither of them knew how to continue and say what they wanted to.
"I came to apologise," Y/n spoke up, beginning to rip grass up from the ground. "I tried to come a month ago, but then there was a storm. But-"
"It would've still been too late," Quackity cut them off. Y/n looked up at him only to see him staring at the ground, refusing to look at them. "I left because I thought you weren't coming back, and then I had this idea-"
"What do you mean you thought I wasn't coming back? Quackity, I made a promise and so did you and the others! That we'd never walk away. Ever."
"Well, I'm sorry for thinking that then! It's just after the shit we both said I thought you were leaving this time for good! That you'd finally given up on us!"
"Can we not argue for once?"
"Oh, says you."
He stood up, taking a few steps backwards, before groaning in disdain.
"What now?"
"That fucking Goose is back!" Quackity sighed out, "I swear, it won't leave me alone."
"Okay, and what does that have to do with finding Karl and Sapnap?"
"I don't know okay! It's just this fucking thing won't leave me alone and keeps trying to drag me through nether portals." Quackity sighed, clearly frustrated.
"I'm sorry," he grumbled out, "I'm not good with emotions sometimes."
"I know," Y/n replied before standing up and taking Quackity's hands in theirs, rubbing their thumbs on the back of his palms when he didn't object or try to pull away. "You'd think the blaze hybrid would be the most hot-headed out of the four of us. Turns out, he's the least."
Quackity let out a small smile at their words before enveloping them in his arms, his wings fluttering and encasing the two of them.
“We still need to work stuff out,” Y/n said, voice slightly muffled, from where their head was buried in Quackity’s shirt.
“I know sweetheart, I know.”
Tumblr media
Sapnap was outside.
And he was touching grass.
This wasn’t unusual for the blaze hybrid, him liking to sit in the flower fields surrounding his house.
When Karl choose the leave Cedar Rapids, Sapnap couldn't help but follow him, not wanting to lose the last of his partners, even though it felt as if he had already gone. Like Karl had slipped through his fingers and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
He thinks that may be the reason why he subconsciously chose this place to live. The flower fields reminded him of the unproblematic childhood he had and the first home he knew.
The loud honk, which came from his left, startled him enough that he dropped the flower crown he was absentmindedly weaving, fire igniting around his horns. The amber flames swirled before dying down.
The goose waddled over to him, attempting to bite onto his sleeve and drag him. Sapnap attempted to swat him away only for the goose to hiss at him.
After a least a minute of this happening, Sapnap sighed at the animal before grabbing it over its wings and lifting it into his lap, the goose immediately settling down but now gnawing on his hand.
“Why do you have a Soulmate Goose?”
Sapnap didn't tear his eyes away from the creature that was nestled in his lap, it was still keen on trying to bite his fingers off.
“Nice to see you too Drista,” he said back, “What do you want?”
“To know why you have a soulmate goose? Duh?”
Spanap gave her a deadpan look, “Well I don’t know. Shouldn’t you know, aren’t you like a god or something?”
The teenager glared at him from where she was floating in the sky, “Just because you’re best friends with my brother doesn’t mean I like you.”
Sapnap rolled his eyes in response, returning to pet the animal in his lap, the softness of the feathers reminding him of the nights when Quackity would let them help preen his wings. The duck usually ends up curled up on his lap, his head on Sapnap’s chest listening to his heartbeat letting out soft chirps of appreciation. Sapnap's heart clenched at the memory.
The teenager let herself land on the ground, sitting down amongst the flowers as she stared to mess with the grass.
“My brother told me about them.”
“Who, Dream?”
“No, XD,” she glared back at him when he interrupted her, “He used to say that sometimes the humans would need help to be with their soulmate and that he and some of the other gods created this being that would help them, the people giving it its name.”
“The soulmate goose? Really?”
“That’s not its full name, idiot. It’s the Soulmate Goose of Enforcement,” Drista deadpanned. “Anyway, I wouldn’t have thought you would end up meeting it, you know. You get along so well with Karl, Quackity, and Y/n, therefore you wouldn’t- Oh.”
Sap looked down away from the teenager, returning to give the now quiet goose more pets.
“Yeah,” Sapnap whispered in response.
Feeling really awkward about the situation, the teenage god thought it would be best that she left, “I’m going to go and find Tommy, bye Snapchat!”
And with that, she teleported away leaving the blaze hybrid alone in the field.
Sapnap began to think about his choices again. About everything that had happened, about everything he didn’t say, about everything he could’ve, no should’ve done.
He knew he should’ve stepped in and stopped Y/n and Quackity from arguing. He knew he should’ve helped Karl more before he began to forget everything. He knew he should’ve helped himself, to stop himself from walking away from his home.
Yes, Kinoko Kingdom may be where he lived, it may be his, or partly his, but it wasn’t his home. Cedar Rapids was more his home, if anything, the Dream SMP was more of his home than this place.
His fiancées are his home, not here. Not anywhere else.
Not this place he ran to when he was scared. When he was terrified of losing the last person who meant something to him.
A few tears escaped his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away as the Goose in his lap let out another honk.
Unbeknownst to him, a figure started to approach him, coming to a stop a few feet in front of him, gentle cawing being heard a lot more.
“She was right you know,” The woman said, Sap looking up at the person standing in front of him, not recognising the figure. He tensed up, ready to fight the unknown person, but only if it came to it, "I didn't expect you four to have him."
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" he asked only for the woman to gently smile in response.
"I'm Kristin, Goddess of Death-"
"You're Y/n's mom," Sapnap interrupted.
"I am, amongst other things," Kristin sat down in front of the young adult, "It's nice to finally meet you Sapnap. Y/n talks about you quite a bit."
One of the few crows flying around came and hopped down on the ground between the two, dropping Kristin a shiny rock, letting the goddess pet them before flying off and joining the rest of its brethren.
"Sapnap," Kristin began, letting the blaze focus his attention back on her, "The best thing I could do is give you advice. Don't spend time dwelling on what needs to be done. Go, find Y/n and Quackity, and talk. If you keep bottling up your feelings, it's going to get you nowhere, and this guy here is just going to get more mad at the four of you for being idiots."
"They left," Sapnap replied, voice cracking slightly, "They left us-"
He tried to continue talking but sobs left his mouth as tears started to fall. His shoulders shook with each shuddering breath he took, his horns lighting with a dull blue fire once again.
Kristin shuffled forward, wrapping her arms around him, letting his head fall onto her shoulder as she ran a hand through his hair, comforting her almost son-in-law.
And as Sapnap let the tears fall from him and his emotions run, he knew he couldn't continue like this. He knew something had to change.
The rain was bad that night.
It didn't rain much in Las Nevadas, it being in a warmer part of the smp, but when it rained, it poured like hell.
It was mainly when thunderstorms would happen in the main part of the greater smp that the weather would really be affected. It was like a cycle. Heavy rain that would cause the river to rise where L'Manberg once stood meant that light showers would last an hour at most and thunderstorms would cause heavy rainfall that would soak anyone to the bone.
Quackity knew it was a bad storm because even Slime was holed up inside.
He had managed to zone out the sound of rain hitting the window, the continuous drone allowing him to block it out as inherent background noise. The occasional flashes of light caused his wings to twitch in anticipation.
There was something wrong.
Quackity didn't know what exactly. It was more of an inherent feeling creeping up behind him, causing the occasional shiver to run down his spine. He just couldn't put his finger on it.
Slime was sat by the window, looking out across Las Nevadas. He personally likes the rain, just when it gets too heavy it affects his viscosity too much and throws him off. 'There's always the fountain', he thought, his fingers tracing the raindrops across the window.
Slime was following the raindrops as they fell, his finger reaching up to trace them before he remembered what his friend Quackity had told him the last time he did that.
Slime knew that he was a goopy guy but sometimes he would forget. He knew that he was bones or that he had to be but sometimes his brain didn't connect and say that to his goop. It was something he was working on because he had to seem like a human and that he had bones, even when it was a no-bones day.
Anyway, ignoring Slime's partial existential crisis, the goopy guy in a shirt and pants, and basically an identical outfit to his friend Quackity, he continued to stare out of the window before ultimately attempting to return to his previous task.
Quackity was not paying attention. The paperwork in front of him had been read at least twelve times but he still couldn't take the information in. Something was disrupting him and he couldn't work out what. It was an itch in the back of his mind, an annoying one at that.
He let out a sigh as he dropped the pen onto the table, leaning back against his chair and pushing himself away from his desk. He let out a puff of air, blowing the strands of hair out from in front of his eyes. Quackity really needed another haircut.
He stared up at the ceiling, his mind starting to wander.
How long was it going to take purpled to find Karl and Sapnap, surely not another week right? He couldn't keep living like this. In denial and regret, it was drowning him.
Even if the two decided they never wanted him again, then at least he would apologise to them. It was the least they deserved.
The shadowy figure in the distance continued to draw closer, forcing Quackity, who had unfortunately noticed its presence earlier but chose to ignore it, to rise up out of his seat and head towards the window. It was a person he was staring at, carrying a bundle of something in its arms, but for the life of him he couldn't work out who.
The rain was cascading down now, affecting his vision and the lights of his city did little to unmask them. His heart clenched at the sight of it; that same nagging feeling saying something was wrong hit him tenfold.
He turned to face Slime, having made up his mind he would go see if the masked figure was okay only for the doors behind him to be flung open.
It was Y/n soaked to the bone.
"Q," they began, terror etched onto their face. It made Quackity's feathers ruffle and stand on edge, wanting to wrap them in his arms and protect them from whatever they were afraid of.
"Q, it's Karl."
Tumblr media
The fire flickered casting light across the room. It was the only source of warmth alongside the abundance of blankets piled across the four of them.
The bundle held in Quackity's arms was no stranger to him, the mop of brown hair that usually covered his forehead pushed to the side allowing the damp cloth to rest there and lower the Jacobs boy's raging fever.
The duck's instincts kicked in and the other two stepped aside to allow him to swaddle and care for Karl. They knew he was in safe hands and that Quackity was better at dealing with sick people.
Y/n had propped themselves against the wall, a blanket thrown over their shoulders and wrapped around them. The cloak they had donned earlier was in a pile alongside some of the other wet clothes of both Sap and Karl.
They looked down at the duo huddled on the floor, Quackity's wings furling around the star-eyed boy in a protective cocoon. Chirps left his mouth as he changed the water on the rag before smoothing it over the brunette's unconscious forehead.
There was no guarantee that he would wake up. Y/n could only pray that the gods of prime would help him. They couldn't lose him.
"What happens now?"
Both their own and Sapnaps heads snapped up to look at Quackity, he having the courage to break the scared silence that had overcome them all.
Y/n looked to Sapnap, the blazeborn looking worse for wear. It looked like he hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep in the past years, like he was soon to be death-walking. Just like Karl.
His shirt was clad against his chest, the white material somewhat see-through but now drying allowing them to see the runes that lined his body. He was hunched forward, his own blanket lying over his shoulders as his hands were clasped together in his lap.
Figuring that he wasn't going to speak up, Y/n pushed themselves off the wall and moved to sit between Sapnap's chair, and where the two were huddled together on the floor. They grabbed the blazeborn's hand in their own and placed their other upon Q's shoulder causing him to sway towards them slightly at the affection.
"We talk." They spoke out, the three awake sharing glances at each other.
A distant honk sounded as the goose settled itself into Slime's lap, the goopy guy petting the animal before it began to fade into dust, blowing away into the sky.
Had this idea in my head for a while. What if when karl forgot Quackity, Quackity decided to cut both of them off whitout talking to Sapnap (Cause he wasn't there), and then Karl got really busy and also forgot Sapnap. So Sapnap was left fully alone and heart broken, so when they tried to talk to him again, he wouldn't have it.(Sorry not sorry for the angst)
(MY ART, Don't worry!😊)
Unrecognizable
Pairing(s): Karlnap x Reader, Karl x Reader, Sapnap x Reader, Sapnap x Karl
Warning(s): umm cursing, blood mention, very mild violence, a whole lotta angst B)
A/N: Feast upon this beautiful karlnap content lmao. I had this doc just sitting there, half finished cause I forgot about it. And I just saw it again yesterday and was like.. huh, why didn't I ever finish this? and then proceeded to take the next 20 minutes and finish it. So yeah, hope you enjoy! Not sure how proud of this I am but oh well🤷
Tumblr media
“Guys stop-” Your eyes shifted between the two in front of you. They were almost unrecognizable.
What happened to them? What happened to your boys?
They continued to shout at one another, venom spewing from their lips. Burning one another till they were nothing but hollow bones. And when the damage was done, when there was no more venom left, the overwhelming feeling of rage bubbled up inside them, threatening to spill over. The urge to make each other hurt. It didn’t matter how but they were going to make each other feel exactly what they felt.
And unfortunately for Karl, Sapnap was a fighter. His rage manifested in the form of his fist colliding with Karl’s cheek.
“Guys stop!” You shouted, finally stepping in directly to try and break up the fight. It was a mess of limbs and blood.
Karl knew he couldn’t win a fight with Sapnap, so he decided his best course of action was to flee.
He only got so far before Sapnap was tugging him back by his collar, arm poised to strike Karl’s face once more.
Though that was far from the case.
It fell silent.
The air couldn’t be described as anything less than was tense as the boys stared at you, unable to move.
You propped yourself up on your elbow, hand raising to tenderly feel your cheek.
Sapnap was at a loss for words, chest heaving, heart ready to beat out of his chest as he looked between you and Karl.
You slowly and shakily rose to your feet, taking in a breath and collecting yourself as best you could.
It hurt.
You’d be lying if you said it didn’t. Taking a punch from one of the best warriors on the server would hurt anyone like hell.
But you were high on the adrenaline coursing through your veins, too high to pay any mind to the blooming bruise on your cheek and the blood pooling in your mouth. Instead all you felt was rage. Almost as if the boy’s anger had transferred to you.
“Y/-”
“Enough! I’ve had fucking enough of this! I’ve had enough of the both of you!” You shouted, effectively cutting Sapnap off.
“I can’t do this anymore! I’m tired. Okay, Sap? I’m tired. I can’t take any more of your fighting. I can’t stand being the peacemaker anymore! I can’t! I can’t take running the entire fucking kingdom by myself while you and Karl run off to do god knows what! I can’t stand seeing you two look at each other like that anymore! What the fuck happened? Actually- wait, I don’t care anymore. I’m passed caring for whatever stupid little feud you have going on!” You threw your hands up in frustration, letting out a humorless laugh.
“You know… I can’t even bear to look at you anymore. Both of you. And I just-” you let out a sigh, shrugging as you looked at the two, dead on. “I really fucking wish we’ve never met.”
“Y/N- We’re sor-” Sapnap took a step forward.
“You’re sorry?” you scoffed, “You’re sorry? Stay the fuck away from me if all you can say after this is I’m sorry.”
“Well what am I supposed to say?! None of this even involved you! Nobody was asking you to stick your nose in other people’s business!” He shouted back, feeling his anger get the better of him.
Beside the two of you, Karl was at a loss for words. His thoughts were running a thousand miles a minute but he couldn’t open his mouth. Open your mouth. Say something. Open your fucking mouth Karl!
“Well fucking excuse me for caring about you! Excuse me for caring about my fucking fiances!” You felt your anger reaching nearer and nearer to its tipping point.
“Oh my god I’m so over this shit! It’s always my fault, isn’t it!? I can't run the kingdom. I’m always ‘running off’. I’m always the one ‘starting fights’. You think you’re sick of it? I’m sick of you always nagging me about stupid shit and telling me what I can and can’t do!” You could feel the heat radiating from him. He took a step closer and you faltered, taking a step back.
However, you finally reached your tipping point. And with fuckall holding you back, you finally released the venom you were holding back.
“Well if you’re so fucking over it, then why don’t you leave already!? Why do you still stick around? If my nagging really bothers you that much then why aren’t you already gone!?”
“I don’t know if you forgot princess, but this isn’t really your kingdom. Never was. So if anyone here should leave, it’s you.” He took another step forwards, now chest to chest with you.
“I wonder how I would have forgotten that. Hmm, maybe it’s because while you were off picking fights, I was running the whole kingdom by myself. Picking up the slack that you dropped! So excuse me for thinking it wasn’t your kingdom anymore.” You spat, staring him down with your unwavering anger.
“I’m fucking over this. You know what? Just take all your shit and get out of my kingdom. I want you gone by sunrise. And don’t even fucking think of ever coming back here. You’re officially exiled from Kinoko Kingdom.” He growled, shoving past you harshly, and stomping away.
“Good luck trying to run the kingdom without me! I’m sure it’ll be in shambles within hours!” You shouted after him, before finally turning your attention to Karl.
He was still stood there in disbelief. His eyes slowly met yours, surprised by the tears pooling in them.
“Well I hope you’re fucking happy Karl. I hope you and Sapnap live happily ever fucking after and that Kinoko isn’t burnt to the ground in the next few days. Good fucking luck.” You snapped before leaving to gather your things and get as far away from the stupid kingdom as possible.
“Y/N.. Sapnap…” Karl muttered as he watched the two of you march away. He lingered for a bit before making up his mind and heading to his library.
“I can fix this.”
So, one of my fav thoughts for the digimon au is that Sapnap will not be able to evolve to his champion form due to being partnered with Karl (I explain digimon and human partnerships and EDEN in this post <3).
This is because Karl has the EDEN Syndrome, his real body is comatosed and his digital data is fading, so there’s not enough energy for Sapnap to evolve past his Rookie stage. No one really knows why either, because it takes a while for them to figure out Karl isn’t a regular EDEN user like the rest of em. He randomly blips out of cyberspace, which everyone just thinks is him exiting EDEN, and when he can’t remember what he did in the real world they all just assume he’s private and don’t want to talk about his real life.
Sapnap ends up thinking he’s the one that’s doing something wrong when he can’t evolve, because after a while Dream, Punz and Foolish can all reach their Champion stages with the help of their human partners. He’s pretty harsh on himself about it, especially since his inability to evolve means he can’t help much in battles and at times he end up being a liability. He blames himself for George having to force evolve Dream to Ultimate when they got into a fight they couldn’t win, leaving Dream’s data corrupted until they could weaken and capture him by force.
Basically Sapnap and Karl don’t have a fun time at the start of the AU. It does get better, but not until it gets even worse…
The angst of this Squidcraft event! Wow!
Anyways story time!
Tina feels the tail she had on rip away from her at the last second. She stops in her tracks and freezes. She sees the person who took it bounce and then walk away. She tears up as she realizes she's going to die now. Seeing her best friend foolish, come rushing to her side as he takes her hand. "I saw it! I saw them take it the last second!" He has tears in his eyes as he sees her just stand there in shock. Sapnap and Dream come rushing over with some others that try to talk to her in Spanish. She cries as Sapnap begs for her to move. "You shouldn't die alone! Let's go!"
"I can't move...." She says through her tears as Dream begs for this to not be happening. "No... this.... Tina have my tail! Please! Live!" He begs as he hugs her from behind as she cries into his arms that were wrapped around her neck. Sapnap comes over and hugs her as he cries, begging for her not to go. Foolish holds her hand as he tries his best to keep her calm while the other try to say their goodbye.
The room was filled with people crying and begging for people to live. Some say their goodbyes before they get got. Gun shots could be heard throughout the room as it rings in peoples ears.
Then Tina was shot died. Her lifeless body falls into the boys arms as Sapnap and Dream cry, not having the chance to say goodbye yet. Foolish cries as he holds her hand tighter as once they let her lay on the ground, he takes the little carrot clip from her hair and puts it on his shirt. "I'll live on for you Tina." He says as he misses his best friend already.
The screen shows that Karl has been shot too and Sapnap cries out. "No!" He looks around frantically as he begs for this to not be happening. His best friend and lover Karl. Not him. Please not him. He looks around for his body as Dream helps him. They find him and hug the body of their friend as George and Quackity come over. They cry as they hoped that this would never happen.
But that's what happens when you play the game.
People must die, so one takes the prize.
Hear me out…what if Karlnapitys limbos are all just reflections of each other? Karl’s can be an empty city (fear of forgetting his fiancés and loosing him self, based of Quackity), Quackitys can be fire (everything he’s ever loved has burnt, Sapnap) and Sapnap’s can be a time loop (fear of loosing people, Karl)
Sapnap's a warrior.
That's a fact, the sky is blue, the sun is bright and Sapnap's a warrior.
He knows how to fight just as well as he knows how to write, it's part of him, it's carved on everything he does, in the way he stands, how he walks and moves.
Karl Jacobs and Alex Quackity are not warriors, they're not even fighters. Karl hurts himself too easily and Quackity can't stand to look at blood.
And in a selfish manner, Sapnap has always been glad they don't know death and weapons like he does, he stares at them, from afar (from their kitchen and bed) and he prays to a God he's not sure he believes in:
"Don't let them be anything but this, make me bleed, if you have to, take my heart and whatever you could want, but please, let them keep their smiles and hope, don't scar them with the pain you could put on me."
And every time he kisses them goodbye, he always takes just a few seconds to gaze at them (to paint them on his mind, to amaze himself but the imperfections they hate but that Sapnap loves because they're part of them).
Quackity will laugh in glee and Karl will pout in embarrassment and Sapnap will pray.
(Sapnap's a warrior, and as he slowly lets himself be taken away, slowly melting into Her embrace, he's proud of being one.)
